St John's Church Over

Sunday

Sunday Services

We meet as a church family every Sunday morning and afternoon.  Our morning service starts at 10:30 in the church building and our afternoon meeting starts at 4:30pm in the community centre. We do this because Jesus commanded his followers to get together and we want to show our love for Jesus by obeying him.

We meet so that we can encourage and support each other in our Christian lives. We do this through praising God through song, reading the Bible, praying, and having the Bible explained to us in a thirty-minute talk.

SJKids

We believe that the message of the gospel is for people of all ages but that it needs to be taught in different ways for different ages.

SJKids is our children’s group, which meets alongside the main Sunday service.

SJKids is for primary school age children. The kids will leave the service just before the talk begins and return before the Lord’s Supper. Older children can stay in the service and can follow the talk with their own activity sheet.

We have a fantastic team of leaders, who are trained in how to teach and apply the amazing truths of the bible to younger age groups. They do this through talks, dramas, games, and crafts.

All our leaders hold valid DBS checks and are in compliance with our safeguarding policy.

Sunday afternoons:

Sunday afternoons work a little different week by week. We use the time to either pray for or reach out to our community, through a few different events.

You can check out the calendar to find out what's happening week by week or you can download the programme here.
