St John's Church Over

What we believe

When the Church of England was being formed, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Cranmer, wrote the basis of faith that the church was to be established on.

There are 39 Articles of faith which the Anglican church holds too.

We believe that these articles of faith are just as true now as they were when they were written, and that they accurately summarise the truths we find in scripture.

  2. Of Christ the Son of God.
  3. Of his going down into Hell.
  4. Of his Resurrection.
  5. Of the Holy Ghost.
  6. Of the Sufficiency of the Scriptures.
